“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.  “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55:8-9

Are you tired? Stressed? Feeling unfulfilled? Are your physical, emotional and spiritual bank accounts drained? Do you feel like the perpetual gerbil expending endless amounts of energy pursuing your life’s dream only to discover you’re getting nowhere? If so, then it may be time for a change. And there’s a better way!

If I described you to a tee you might be happy to know you’re not alone. Many people before you have been in your shoes and stepped in the same mud. In fact, one famous King of Israel experienced the same hopelessness when he pursued the same dream you have. King Solomon, the author of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, was the wisest, richest, most powerful man of his day. Like you, he tried to find happiness and fulfillment in the things of this world. He thought he’d be happy having riches beyond any man’s dream, yet he found disappointment. His power, being able to command anything he conjured up, was thought to be fulfilling, yet he wasn’t satisfied. He had over a thousand wives and concubines, thinking relationships was where happiness must be found, yet he was deeply disenchanted.

In the end, after trying every worldly passion he could, he succumbed to the fact that pure joy, eternal happiness and soul satisfaction can only be found in knowing, loving and serving the God of creation.

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. – Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Interpreted in New Testament terms, the ultimate purpose in life can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

As the prophet Isaiah proclaimed, God’s ways are not our ways. You will discover that this is true in all things; in your finances, your marriage, your relationships, etc. If you truly seek to discover God’s ways in these areas of your life you will discover true happiness and fulfillment. You may wonder how do I seek God’s ways? It’s simple, immerse yourself in His Word daily. God provides all the answers in His love letter to you. Make a commitment to read His Word daily and allow the words of the Bible to transform you into the person you were designed to be, a child of the Living God!

Stop trying and start relying. Stop pursuing and start renewing. Stop stressing and start blessing. Stop running FROM God and start running TO God. There is a better way … and it’s available to all who desire it. Start today by giving control of your life over to the One who designed and created you … Jesus! Place your faith and trust in the Lord and allow His Spirit to enter you and renew your passion for life. He is the only true way … and it’s a much better way!
